Our construction crews deliver excellence in pavement preservation throughout Mississippi and other neighboring states.
The construction foreman will directly supervise the crew and coordinate daily activities with the general superintendent.
This is a hands-on position where working side-by-side with staff is the norm.
This position reports to the General Superintendent.
Key Responsibilities Work closely with the superintendent in planning the daily schedules and tasks.
Communicate to the crew members what activities are to be accomplished.
Bring problems to the attention of the Asphalt Superintendent as needed.
Coordinate, direct and lead workers engaged in the construction activities.
Supervise crews to obtain top quality workmanship, efficiency, employee satisfaction, morale, communication, commitment, teamwork and pride.
Work closely with Superintendent to verify employee time sheets for accuracy before submitting to the timekeepers/Payroll.
Analyze and resolve worker issues with the Superintendent.
If the problems are around harassment, work with the EEO Officer the Foreman is to work with the Superintendent to develop a plan of action.
Communicate with maintenance staff about maintenance needs on all major pieces of equipment on assigned jobs.
Relate to the public and to customers in a professional, courteous and respectful manner.
Follow the industry best practices and procedures and protocols as set forth in orientations and trainings.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Knowledge of materials, methods and the tools involved.
Strong coordination, time management, active listening and reasoning skills required.
The ability to tell when something is wrong or is likely to go wrong and to work toward the solution of those issues.
Must be proficient at basic math and able to read, understand and apply information obtained from project plans and job specifications.
An unwavering focus on safety.
Understand and adhere to the Personal Protection Equipment requirements.
Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent.
Construction Management Degree or Construction Management Experience Preferred A minimum of 2-5 years of supervisory role and related skill, knowledge and experience.
Able to travel as needed to job sites in Mississippi and neighboring states.
Ability to stay overnight for three weeks at a time.
Must have a valid Driver's license at a minimum.
Compensation and Benefits Weekly Pay Wages commensurate based upon experience and abilities Merit increases available after 30 days if warranted.
