Role Summary/Purpose The Advanced Lead Engineer / Technologist in the Shop (EIS) will be an experienced engineer collocated at a key Supply Chain core shop to accelerate progress on NPI (New Product Introductions), delivery, cost out, and quality.
Essential Responsibilities In addition, you will:
Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhere to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements
Provide technical leadership to personnel supporting assigned projects
Document technical data generated by assigned projects consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Provide timely communications on significant issues or developments
Participate on teams assigned to address organizational initiatives and generic issues
Participate as a presenter or reviewer in technical and program reviews
Assure proper documentation of technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures
Support NPIs (NPI
source changes) by adding rigor and incorporating lessons learned
Identify / Support Engineering cost out projects
Drive MRB reduction and TAT improvement
Communicate Engineering design intent
Build connections between Site and Design Engineering part owners
Support other Engineering tasks / initiatives; like VSE first-article visuals, PPRs
Support other Supply Chain tasks / initiatives; like loss reduction, quality event root cause analysis
Qualifications/Requirements
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering in Mechanical, Aerospace, Materials, or Manufacturing from an accredited college or university
Minimum 5 years of experience in a design engineering position
