Associate Buyer
Praxair Surface Technologies (PST), a subsidiary of Praxair, Inc., a Fortune 300 company that supplies atmospheric, process, specialty gases, high-performance coatings, and related services & technologies is seeking an Associate Buyer for our Ellisville, MS location. This position is responsible for the day to day procurement of all business materials required to support the PGT Ellisville facility.

Procure process materials, plant supplies, fixed assets and other items for internal clients from approved requisition(s) in a timely manner.
Constantly evaluate vendors and develop new supply sources where vendors are inadequate.
Examine bids and make awards according to value, price, and quality along with Praxair objectives.
Be the key contact for suppliers, operations, and project management for creating Purchase Orders (PO).
Track open order status and follow up on order execution.
Work cooperatively with financial organization to determine PO account coding and to resolve invoice payment issues.
Ensure timely and accurate inventory cycle counts. Research and reconcile discrepancies.
Manage and maintain proper inventory levels based on both actual and forecasted usage.
Support annual physical inventories and minimize annual inventory adjustments.
Work closely with Plant Receiving personnel to ensure products arrive and Oracle receiving transactions are completed.
Distribute plant shipments to requestors as needed.
Clear, professional and timely communication with all internal and external customers.
Provide assistance and support to other business functions as requested by management.
Maintain operational discipline and is compliant with PST procurement policies.
Other duties as assigned.
Bachelor's Degree preferred; Procurement, Purchasing, Supply Chain Management, Business, Marketing, Engineering or related fields preferred.
Excellent skill on Excel
Prior experience with an Oracle ERP system is desirable
2-3 years of Sales, Engineering, Operations, Logistics or related field required
Min 1-3 year Procurement experience preferred
Strong analytical and communication skills
Results driven and self-motivation
